The National Museum of Antiquities and Islamic Arts is located in the town of Algiers-Center. It is notably the oldest museum in Algeria and one of the oldest museums in Africa. The museum is composed of two pavilions: the pavilion of antiques where we can see invaluable pieces such as mythological mosaics in a state of conservation exceptional, statues, pottery and many other historical pieces to discover. The second pavilion, that of Islamic arts, we find mainly objects dating from the Islamic period such as currency, swords, jewelry, furniture including the minbar of the Great Mosque of Algiers.
